I'm Xavi Bonatti, passionate about outdoor sports, the mountains and the sea. For a few years I have been working professionally as a mountain guide, diving instructor and ski instructor. Currently, I have already spent several years where my passion has become a means of living, which has only increased my desire to go to the mountains, since sharing what I have been able to learn, in these few years, it is for me one of the things I like. Teaching and training are a very important part of our work as guides, personally a very fun way to help those who want to start so that they know the best way to be able to do the activity with maximum safety. Known also by the name Shinrin-Yoku, forest bathing is a wellness activity originating from Japan, which brings thousands of physical and psychological benefits to your body. With this proposal, you will enjoy a walk through a natural environment, where the only rule is to feel and connect as much as possible with nature, using all five senses. Every Thursday in July and August from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM in La Massana.

Via ferrada Roc de la Basera d’Arinsal

Via ferrata

Located in the area of the Bosc del Palomer, this is a route of about 180 m in length. The route has an easy entry section that leads us to some vertical stretches with a slight overhang. This section runs along a vertical wall that will leave us at the top of the forest. Accessing the route takes approximately 25 minutes. From the car park at Vedat del Coll Turer, we go down the Galliner path until we find the entrance to the new path that leads to the foot of the route. The descent will take us back up for ten minutes through the forest until we find the descent path of Coll de Turer. It takes us about 30 minutes to reach the car park.

Poble d'Erts

From Erts, you can access Pal and Arinsal. Like all the crossroads of paths, hospitality and warmth are the characteristics of their traditional bordas, some of which have been converted into restaurants. If you are fans of via ferratas, you have a must-visit.

Estanys Forcats

The Estanys de Forcats are a group of three glacial lakes located within the Comapedrosa Natural Park at an altitude of 2,630 meters; they are among the highest lakes in the principality. They are dominated by two of the seven Andorran peaks that exceed 2,900 m in altitude: the Médécourbe peak (2,913 m) and the Roca Entravessada (2,928 m). The Franco-Andorran and Hispano-Andorran borders are each about a few hundred meters from the lakes.

Church of Sant Romà d’Erts

From the 18th century, built in a location near the ancient Romanesque chapel. It features a two-eyed belfry above the entrance and a porch. It preserves a baroque altarpiece from the old church with paintings that evoke the martyrdom of Saint Roman.

Escape game to do with family. The activity takes place in the Comapedrosa Natural Park, and both young and old will not only enjoy a moment of fun and leisure together, but also learn about the environment and the most important natural features of the park that houses the highest peak in the country: the Comapedrosa peak, located at 2942 m above sea level. Designed as an educational and didactic game, children will have to follow the clues provided throughout the journey and complement them with the instructions from the explanatory booklet. There they will find a map of the entire itinerary that, along with other elements of the park, and with the help of the forest friends and the tamarro Massa, will help them solve all the enigmas and formulate the magic potion to save our friend Serenalla! While traversing the interpretive circuit of Comapedrosa, as an added point you should know that this itinerary also covers a part of the interpretive circuit of Comapedrosa: not only will you enjoy a moment of recreation with your family, but at the same time you will learn about the native flora and fauna. This route can be done all year round, as long as weather and terrain conditions allow. Furthermore, it is recommended to go with the appropriate equipment (wear warm clothing and snow shoes or snowshoes in winter, and mountain footwear in summer). The activity lasts about 30-45 minutes and is perfect for family outings.

Les Berques d’Arinsal

Located in the center of Arinsal, this is a sports area for bike, roller, and skate lovers! The space, which is a meeting point for enthusiasts of these disciplines, is divided into five different zones. This way, whether you want to take a ride on your mountain bike, or test your skills with rollerblades or a skateboard, at the Berques d'Arinsal you have several circuits to carry it out! Five circuits of different modalities: adapted to all levels of difficulty, you have various circuits where you can feel adrenaline rushes! For BMX lovers, the space offers a wide one-way track for you to enjoy your practice. If what you enjoy, however, is performing tricks on your bike, you also have a dirt jump circuit where you can do so. The pump track area will be perfect for jumps and berms, whether on a bike, rollerblades, or a skateboard, and if you want to overcome obstacles, the trial area awaits you with a course full of natural and artificial elevations where you can demonstrate your skills and abilities! You will also find a cross-country route adapted for both seasons: in summer you can practice mountain biking, while in winter you will find a trail for snowshoeing. The sports area of the Berques d'Arinsal is a free and open-access space.

Mirador del Pla de l'Ermita

Mirador del Pla de l’Ermita és un punt d’interès turístic i mirador panoràmic situat a l’entorn de Pla de l’Ermita, a la Vall de Boí. Aquest lloc s’ha dissenyat com un espai accessible per a visitants que volen gaudir d’una vista oberta i impressionant del paisatge pirinenc i entendre el context geogràfic i cultural de la vall abans d’explorar altres racons de la zona.  El mirador destaca per la seva estructura amb pèrgola de fusta, que ofereix un punt d’observació ampli i ben protegit des del qual es desplega una panoràmica clau del territori. Des d’aquí es pot veure la pintoresca localitat de Taüll amb les seves cases i camps envoltats de muntanyes, boscos i prats, així com els relleus que caracteritzen el Pirineu. Aquesta escena ajuda a comprendre la relació entre la orografia de la vall i la distribució dels nuclis humans, així com la influència de l’entorn natural en la vida tradicional i l’economia local.  L’accés al Mirador del Pla de l’Ermita és senzill i còmode: s’arriba mitjançant una petita passejada des de l’aparcament del Pla de l’Ermita, una zona que es pot recórrer amb facilitat en pocs minuts. Aquesta proximitat el converteix en una parada ideal tant per a qui arriba amb vehicle com per a qui està fent senderisme suau o una ruta de descoberta de la vall.  Aquest mirador és especialment recomanable per a visitants que volen fer una primera presa de contacte amb la Vall de Boí abans de dirigir-se cap al conjunt romànic, les rutes de senderisme o altres miradors. La combinació de vista amplia, facilitat d’accés i valor paisatgístic el fa atractiu per a famílies, fotògrafs i amants de la natura

These mischievous beings, half legend and half popular imagination, live in their own particular world. As far as we know, there are at least seven in Andorra. They are very difficult to see because, besides moving very, very quickly, they know how to do it without being noticed at all. To all these difficulties, we must add that they only come out of their world when we need them. There is one very important thing you need to know about the tamarros: they are the protectors of nature and the forests of Andorra.

Cascada del Barranc Gros

La Cascada del Barranc Gros és una joia natural situada als voltants de Barruera, un dels pobles emblemàtics de la Vall de Boí, a l’Alta Ribagorça. Aquesta cascada neix d’un barranc de muntanya típic pirinenc, el Barranc Gros, on l’aigua de desgel i pluja desguassa des de les altures cap a la fondalada. La cascada queda encaixada en un paisatge abrupt i verd, amb roques rugoses i vegetació de ribera que marquen l’entorn d’un salt d’aigua fresc i fotogènic. Aquest lloc no és només un punt d’interès natural sinó també una parada habitual dins de rutes de senderisme que travessen boscos i camins tradicionals de la vall. Tot i que no és una cascada de grans dimensions comparada amb altres salts del Pirineu, el seu caràcter salvatge i la integració en un entorn rural tradicional fan que l’atractiu no radqui només en el salt d’aigua en si mateix sinó en el recorregut natural i cultural que implica arribar-hi. La zona del Barranc Gros es recorre a peu des de Barruera o Durro mitjançant senders ben traçats, alguns amb trams ombrívols i altres amb panoràmiques de la vall i la serralada. Aquest punt sovint apareix com a punt d’interès en itineraris circulars o excursions curtes al voltant de Barruera, proporcionant una experiència completa d’aigua, muntanya i natura pirinenca. Els visitants acostumen a combinar la visita de la cascada amb recorreguts per la vall, amb creuament de gorgs naturals i trams que revelen la riquesa d’aquest paisatge d’alta muntanya.

Poble de Durro

Town

Durro is one of the towns with the most personality in the Boí Valley, located on a natural plateau at an altitude of about 1,380 meters, which gives it a dominant position and wide views of the valley and the surrounding mountains. This elevated location has conditioned both its urban structure and its historical character, closely linked to mountain life. The town retains a compact and irregular layout, with narrow streets, stone houses and llicorella roofs, adapted to the relief and climate. The main heritage element is the Church of the Nativity of Durro, a Romanesque temple from the 11th and 12th centuries that is part of the complex declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its slender bell tower, visible from afar, is one of the most recognizable elements of the town and acts as a visual landmark in the Pyrenean landscape. Historically, Durro was a town closely linked to livestock and agricultural activity, with an environment of high mountain meadows and traditional paths that connected with other villages in the valley. This relationship with the territory is still very present and is perceived in the organization of the town and in the peaceful atmosphere that can be breathed in. A short distance from the town is also the Church of Sant Quirc de Durro, located in an elevated and isolated location, which offers a more contemplative reading of rural Romanesque. Durro is today an excellent point to combine heritage and nature. Hiking routes and panoramic walks depart from the town that allow you to discover viewpoints, forests and old paths with privileged views over the Boí Valley. Its less crowded nature, compared to other villages in the valley, makes it an ideal destination for those looking for tranquility, authenticity and a more leisurely experience of the Pyrenees.
